I’m here for those who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or simply
unsure of how to move forward. Many of us carry invisible burdens
whether it’s the pressure to meet expectations, the challenge of
navigating a new role in life, or the heaviness of anxiety that never
quite goes away. Therapy with me is a place where you don’t have
to have it all figured out. Together, we’ll slow things down, make
space for your feelings, and explore ways to help you reconnect
with yourself.
I also support neurodivergent individuals and families creating a
space of understanding and collaboration where we work toward
feeling seen, heard, and empowered. Whether you’re a parent
needing support or someone trying to find peace in the chaos, we’ll
work at your pace, using tools that feel right for you.

The personal and familial challenges I encountered ignited within me a deep deep passion for supporting individuals, particularly pre-teens, teens, and young adults, through life’s transitions and challenges.
With a Master’s in Social Work, and over 8 years of direct clinical experience, I am an individual therapist, completing consultations, comprehensive assessments and therapy with pre-teens, teens, and adults, struggling with anxiety, depression, academic
performance/attendance, anger, interpersonal trauma, grief, addiction, relationship issues and parental separation/divorce.
I understand that navigating life’s complexities can be overwhelming, especially for young individuals facing transitions or dealing with mental health concerns. That’s why I am committed to providing a safe, non-
judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly. Together, we will work towards fostering resilience, building coping skills, and empowering you to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life.
Therapy for teens and young adults can have a lasting effect on how they view the world, offer comfort in a time of emotional and physical challenges, and give them a space to say the things that are making them feel hurt, disconnected, and alone in the world.
As a Registered Social Worker, my areas of focus include:
Teen Therapy | Self-Esteem Issues | Anxiety Issues for Teens and Adults | Childhood Trauma | School Stressors | General Relationship Issues.
If you’re ready to get started, I always offer a 20-minute consult to see if we are a good fit. I’d love to help you, or a member of your family get the help they need to live better.

The idea of being vulnerable and opening up with someone new can feel intimidating. I am here to offer a safe, judgement-free space for you to feel comfortable, respected, and heard.
Throughout my own journey, I have experienced a plethora of challenges and obstacles to overcome. I’m very empathetic, compassionate, and understanding. Reaching out to start therapy can be a daunting process. Feeling lost, confused, stuck or concerned about stress, managing a big life-changing event or relationship struggles can leave a mix of emotions that can seem difficult to manage.
I provide therapy for adults who have experienced a concussion, are struggling with anxiety, self-esteem issues, relationship /communication issues, disordered eating and/or addictions.
The incident of suffering a concussion is like having all the boxes in our heads that hold our coping mechanisms, our memories, and our struggles, spill out all at once. This is an overwhelming process, in addition to physical discomforts and other pending issues. It can feel like nothing makes sense. In my experience, having support from someone who has also lived through this issue is key to being able to move forward. I provide a safe, supportive environment for adults struggling with a concussion and for those who are dealing with anxiety, self-esteem issues, and communication challenges that accompany this situation.
In addition, my years in the food industry have given me a unique perspective on food and nutrition, and disordered eating. I have a Bachelor of Applied Science in Food and Nutrition and am a Red Seal Chef and this particular combination in addition to my counsellor training provides a particular nuance into how I can assist. I am rooted in a strengths-based approach, while also using cognitive behavioural techniques and opening up the discussion to childhood experiences that may be at the root of anxiety, self-esteem issues or disordered eating. I offer a safe space where we will work together to create, develop and learn to implement new skills and strategies so you can be your best self.
If this sounds like a place for you and you’d like to begin your healing journey with me, I offer a free consultation to see if we are a good fit. I would love to be a part of the excursion.
Here’s some more about me…

I’m a Master of Social Work student at Dalhousie University, currently completing my practicum with Talk Therapy Canada. I work primarily with youth, adults, and parents who are seeking support around ADHD, burnout, life transitions, and the emotional shifts that come with pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. I feel honoured to walk alongside individuals and families as they navigate the ups and downs of life, reconnect with themselves, and find balance again.
Through both my professional and personal experiences, I’ve come to believe that we all have the capacity to heal and grow—but to do that, we need a space that feels safe, relaxed, and genuinely supportive. My goal is to offer that kind of space: one where you can slow down, feel grounded, and begin to understand yourself with compassion instead of judgment.
My primary areas of focus include ADHD, anxiety, depression, parenting challenges, perinatal and postnatal mental health, and the stress that comes with trying to do it all. I take a strengths-based, client-centered approach and draw from evidence-informed practices such as mindfulness, self-compassion, and cognitive-behavioural strategies. I also integrate neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed perspectives to ensure that therapy feels inclusive and adaptable to each person’s needs.

I’m a Registered Social Worker with a Master of Social Work degree and a clinical specialization. Since 2015, I’ve been supporting adults and couples as they navigate emotional pain, relational wounds, and the complex experiences that shape who we are. I aim to provide a safe and collaborative space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported as they explore their inner worlds.
My approach is rooted in attachment theory and a strong belief that our relationships — both with others and ourselves — deeply influence our well-being. I’m inspired by the Harvard Study of Adult Development, which highlights how the quality of our connections is one of the most important factors in a fulfilling life. In our work together, I help you make sense of patterns, understand emotional reactions, and begin to shift into healthier, more secure ways of relating.
I often work with individuals who are struggling with complex trauma, chronic loneliness, anxiety, depression, codependency, and relational challenges. Many of the people I support are working through the effects of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Complex PTSD, or deeply ingrained schemas that impact how they see themselves and interact with others.
If you’re looking to better understand yourself, heal from past experiences, or improve your relationships, I’d be honoured to support you on that journey.

What problem do you strive to overcome?
Problem:
The process of beginning therapy can generate a multitude of emotions in clients. Individuals entering the counselling environment might be hesitant to share their personal experiences and feel overwhelmed about taking this next step. They could have experienced inadequate counselling services in the past, have difficulties making changes in their life, and/or fear being judged or ridiculed. These factors can be a barrier for individuals seeking therapy.
Solution:
I work from a holistic, culturally inclusive, individualistic framework where I strive to create a safe and collaborative space for clients. I will provide an open and honest therapeutic relationship with clients that focuses on their individual needs, experiences, and goals.
Result:
I will collaborate with clients to develop a strong therapeutic relationship and ensure a respectful, comforting, and welcoming therapeutic space. This can help facilitate a client’s own growth and commitment to the counselling process.
Alexa is a Registered Psychotherapist, and a Yorkville University Master of Counselling Psychology graduate. She completed her undergraduate degree at McMaster University in Biology and Psychology. More than just my work:
“Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start.” — Nido Qubein
A good mystery novel, hot chai tea, and some relaxing country music brings me a sense of ease and allows me to quiet my thoughts and focus on the present.
I used to play competitive soccer for many years and find the sport to be challenging and fun, and something I hope to get back to. I loved the camaraderie of the other players. In the meantime, I have really been into baking and experimenting with dairy and gluten free cookies, cakes, and other pastries.
